American Red Cross Babysitter's Training Program (ages 11-15)
This certification course provides participants with the confidence and skills to care for youngsters. Prospective employers will be happy to hire babysitters who have acquired this official recognition. During the course you will develop a resume, practice interviewing, practice diaper changing, feeding, holding and caring for infants and children. Participants will also learn some first aid, other life-saving skills and much, much more. Upon completion of the course, you will receive an ARC Certification Card that does NOT expire, an informational CD-rom, as well as child care concepts. You must attend the entire course, pass the evaluations, and show the maturity to properly care for children. Please bring a lunch, snack, note pad, and pencil. (participants must be 11 by the course date) Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
All participants are required to have a mask on when entering the building and checking in. Please do not attend if you've been in direct contact with someone who has had COVID 19 and you have not been tested, or if you are feeling ill or displaying symptoms of COVID 19. American Red Cross babysitting and child care courses can help you provide quality care to children of all ages. Developed by experts in the industry, our online and in-person courses are available to those ages 11 and older, and include topics such as choosing age-appropriate activities, basic child care, like bottle feeding, child behavior, leadership, professionalism, safety, starting a babysitting business, and more.
